Heather then decided to add nail art to her skill set. Voted in the Top 5 Nail Artists by NZ Heralds ‘Spy’, combining her love for beauty and art was clearly the perfect progression to take her busy little business to the next level.

Heather Vette originally looked into adding nails to her bridal services. Once her brides starting asking whether she offered gel polish, Heather decided to it could be worth investing in the full system. 

Having a background in Visual Arts, Heather gravitated towards doing more and more nail art for her clients, until she was beginning to be known for it. 

Heather studied a Foundation Certificate at Monaco Nail Academy and also became certified by IBX and Artistic Nail Design. While still studying, Heather was voted in the Top 5 Nail Artists by The NZ Herald, Spy.

Heather has also had the pleasure of working with TV and radio personality’s Gracie Taylor, Kara Rickard, DJ Aroha, Breakfast sports host Brodie Kane and Julia Sloane, from ‘The Real Housewives of Auckland’. 

Heather has grown to be so passionate about her nail business and is determined to make a name for herself with her artwork.

Since starting her family in 2019, Heather chose to take time off to be a full-time mum and loved spending all of her time with her 2 boys.

Now it’s time to jump back in and get creative again, with a clear focus of only her nail business. Currently taking nail appointments at her St. Heliers home based studio.

Heather is a qualified makeup and nail artist with 15 years in the industry.

With a lifetime of experience with colour, pigment, shapes and design, a grandmother that was a makeup artist and her mother a hairdresser. Not only is creativity in her blood, she was born into the industry.

At school Heather spent all of her time in the art rooms and she went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts at AUT. Never fully satisfied with painting alone, she needed a way to incorporate her other love of fashion. What better career to explore then Makeup Artistry?

Heather gained her Certificate in Fashion Makeup with Merit and began her career in photographic makeup, building valuable photographic skills and knowledge. She took every other available moment to work on weddings and shows.

Passionate for what she did and with a wealth of knowledge, she decided to become a tutor at one of New Zealand’s leading makeup schools. Eventually she was offered the roll of Programme Leader, responsible for managing the trainers, their development and keeping the course content relevant with current information and designs. She also became qualified in Adult Education.

Thirsty to get amongst all of the areas in the makeup industry, Heather went out on her own as a full-time freelancer, building up her own clientele and working for Smashbox Cosmetics as part of their Pro Team. For 5 years, Heather worked as a hair and makeup artist for brands such as Glassons and Hallenstein Brothers.
